Calm Again

Now he's ready to hang out with dad again on the couch. He's all shiny cause he's been eating his 'Fit and Trim' puppy chow to help keep him slim and trim. He gets plenty of knuckle bones to eat too, and his favorite form of exercise to help keep his 'sleek physique' is playing with his best friend, Dodger, aka 'Mr. Puppy'. at Grandma and Grandpa's house in their backyard. :)

Best Friends All Worn Out

This is the sweetest thing I think I've ever seen in my entire life. This other adorable puppy is Dodger, my parents' puppy, named after my grandma's favorite baseball team.
He's almost 2 years old (his birthday is officially on Valentine's day), and he is a shepard mix. Dodger was also adopted from the No Kill Animal Sanctuary in House Springs, MO, just like Chief.
Dodger and Chief are best friends who hang out a lot together for 'play dates' at my parents' house, their favorite place to play. They fly around chasing each other, investigate mole noises in the backyard, and watch so that golfers and neighborhood 'riff-raff' don't get too close to the fence.
At the end of their play time, this is what these two worn out puppies look like. :)

Up-ize Down Shamey
Our Baby

This is our baby, Chief! He was adopted in October 2005 from House Springs (MO) No Kill Animal Sanctuary, about three months after we got married and moved into our new house. His adoption papers told us he was part yellow lab/part golden retriever mix....LOTS of energy to say the least.
We weren't afraid of things getting chewed on, or little 'accidents' in the house...how could we??? Look how cute he is!
Do you think Jon's slightly obsessed with the KC Chiefs? We couldn't think of a particular player we wanted to name him after, so we just went with the entire team! :) Chief's official birthday is September 1, 2005.
